Vivid Sydney At Taronga Zoo

‘Vivid Sydney At Taronga Zoo, Lights for the wild’

Vivid Sydney is once again lighting up Taronga Zoo with its incredible giant animal light sculptures. Having attended last year and being blown away by the art, we charged like elephants to see this year’s stunning installation. The thrill of walking around Taronga Zoo after dark is one gigantic bonus!

Wide-eyed with wonder we set off on the Lights for the wild trail, with brilliant sculptures dotting the zoo landscape. Giant bees sit in the trees, pelicans and possums hide among the bushes and the most incredible giant PortJackson shark which can walk through as though he has swallowed you whole.

The actual real live giraffes wandered around their inclosure with a lit up city backdrop resembling their very own cool nightclub. The gorilla’s sculptures are extraordinary, as is the field of flower lights which make the whole scene like a dream sequence.

My children adored it and something magical about wandering around the zoo at night. We became part of the experience and interacted with the light sculptures with state-of-the-art wristbands that let you become a light for the wild. Taronga’s heritage-listed main entrance is brought to life with dazzling projections

Australia’s most colourful festival Vivid, Lights for the Wild at Taronga Zoo Sydney has a limited allocation of tickets per night so bookings are essential.
